CREDENTIAL SUMMARY
WM. DAVID NEWMAN, JR. is a litigation associate practicing in
the areas of commercial and real property law since 1989. He is
currently an associate in the litigation department of the law
firm of MARSHALL C. WATSON, P.A. Mr. Newman is a member in good
standing of the Florida Bar, the bar of the United States District
Court for the Southern District of Florida and the United States
District Court, Middle District of Florida. Mr. Newman’s
practice is concentrated in the field of lender representation
in matters dealing with mortgage foreclosures, truth in lending
and fair debt collection defense, bankruptcy, possession disputes
and real property title litigation.
Mr. Newman received his bachelor’s degree in communication
arts, cum laude, from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
in 1984. He received his juris doctor degree in law from the Widener
University School of Law, Wilmington, Delaware in 1988; where
he was elected to the Harrington Inn, American Inns of Court in
1986 and semi-finalist in the law school’s G. Fred DiBona
Moot Court Competition in 1987-88.
Prior to joining the Law Offices of Marshall C. Watson, P.A.
in August 2001, Mr. Newman was engaged in private practice with
the Law Offices of Wm. David Newman, Jr., P.A., where he was engaged
in real property litigation. Representative clients included Fleet
Finance, Inc. and Wilshire Credit Corporation.
Mr. Newman was engaged as a broadcast journalist and staff announcer
with various major market radio stations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
prior to and during his study of law. Representative broadcast
companies with whom Mr. Newman was employed included Metromedia,
Inc., Infinity Broadcasting, Inc. and Lin Broadcasting. Mr. Newman
was also engaged as a freelance commercial artist through the
American Federation of Radio and Television Artists for various
advertising agencies in the Northeastern United States.
